Last Saturday at 10.44 pm Autumn officially started in my country. Although we had lots of rain the first 2 weeks of September, since Saturday the weather is perfect for this time of year.
Most of you know I love Autumn, although I have to say that this Summer has been the best in years. I enjoyed this Summer very much.
I thought it might be fun to share my plans till the end of this year.
This is what I’m doing more this fall (if the weather cooperates). There are lots of organized walks in October/November, most in the forest where the colors are beautiful this time of year. I am going to try to do a long walk of 5K (3 miles) or more every weekend. This can be an organized walk, a part of one of the long distance paths I have routes for or a long walk outside my village.
Till Spring I will be working on the 5K distance. First I want to run it without stopping and the next goal is getting faster. I have planned 3 5K races this fall and 1 on January 4. I don’t really like running in the dark early in the morning but if I know I won’t have to run a long distance, I will probably go most of the times. I have no idea what kind of Winter we will be getting but it will be easier to go out for a 5K run instead of (for example) a 10K run when the weather is bad. Somewhere around Spring I’ll go to the next level: 10K.
Lately I have neglected my strength/other cardio/yogalates workouts. My plan is to do a minimum of 2 of these workouts every week.
With the walks and races I have planned I will be doing something mostly every weekend and I really look forward to it, especially the walks. These are my plans for fall, now let’s hope the weather won’t be too bad (not too much rain).
What are your plans for this fall?
On to more daily things: since 2 days I finally got rid of that nasty cold. It lasted 2 weeks which is very long, usually I’m better in a couple of days. It has also influenced my energy level a lot, didn’t workout much because I often was too tired. Tomorrow I am going back to working out regularly starting with an organized 10K walk together with Bella.
I took the afternoon off yesterday to clean up my garden for the last time before Winter. I like my garden, I like sitting in it but I don’t like working in it. I’m actually glad I won’t have to do much in it till Spring.
Beebox content week 39:
Broccoli, potatoes, lettuce, kohlrabi, chicory, yellow peppers, zucchini, onion, blackberries, apples, whole wheat bread, appel/strawberry juice, mushrooms.
I´m enjoying the Beebox very much: everything is so fresh and tasty. I also eat healthier during the weekends because some products have to be eaten within a couple of days.
Sunday September 22
I used the wild beets from the beebox. I cooked them first, then mixed them with a little bit of rocket salad. Made a dressing of olive oil, balsamico vinegar and honey. Put goat cheese and croutons on it to finish it. Delicious! I never buy beets myself but these ones were delicious: very sweet of taste.
I made a dessert for which I used the blackberries from the beebox. I added some extra forest fruits from the freezer and made a claufoutis of it that I served with a little bit of whipped cream.
Monday September 23
A burger with potatoes and green beans from the beebox.
Tuesday September 24
I used the corn from the beebox. I cooked it first and used it in a salad with tomato, red onion, spring onion and avocado with a little bit of olive oil, salt and pepper. Recipe by Annabel Langbein. We had a piece of pork meat and baked potatoes with it.
