Time: 2 hours and 8 minutes.
Distance: 11.85 K / 7.4 miles
Weather: dry, sunny, 18C (64 degrees).
The walk started at the running club of Soest. Soest is about 20 minutes driving from home. It was difficult to find the start location and it took me almost 45 minutes to get there.
The walk started in the forest almost immediately. We passed a sand drift and had to go a through it for a part. This was hard because it was loose sand which was hard to walk on. The weather was so perfect: brisk, blue skies and sunshine. Perfect weather for walking (or running). There were many people walking (with or without dogs) and running.
Except for a part along a busy road the entire walk was through the forest. It was beautiful, I never have been in these woods. After 8.5 K we passed a restaurant and I decided to stop for coffee with a piece of apple pie. It was busy and I was sitting at a table alone. A man asked if he could join me because there were no free tables. He was really nice. He did the walk too, he was from Amsterdam and retired. He does these walks almost every weekend on Saturday and Sunday. He gave me some tips for nice walks After we finished our coffee and our nice conversation we both continued our walk.
The walk was a bit longer than 10K but that wasn’t a problem because it was such a beautiful walk.
Enjoy our walk:
