Thank you all for the sweet comments on my “no more races” post. Your support means a lot to me.
Every now and then I have to “feed” my cookbook addiction. I ordered three new books (saved me the shipping costs). Two haven’t been published yet but the third one arrived last weekend. It has Italian dishes that are made in a cooking program on a Dutch cooking channel.
Autumn has finally arrived here. This weekend has been very wet so far. I had planned a long walk yesterday but the weather forecast said it would rain all day. Turned out it wasn’t so bad after all and almost the entire afternoon it was dry. But by the time I realized that, it was too late to go. Instead we took a 45 minute around the village. Today is “lost”, it’s raining very hard at the moment with no hope for a dry moment later today.
The curtains in my bedroom have been an irritation for years. We bought them couple of years ago and they were very cheap back then. They didn’t keep the light out very well and needed to be replaced. During our vacation in August we decided to buy new net curtains and a black out roller blind. It had to be ordered and they came to install it last Friday. And I couldn’t be happier with it. The bedroom is more cosy because of the curtains and the roller blind keeps out the light perfect.
Beebox content week 41:
Apple-elderberry juice, wheat-rye bread, blue grapes, apples, palm cale (cavolo nero), red pepper, radish, cucumber, red onion, tomatoes, red lettuce, little potatoes, fennel root.
More interesting items this week: I never buy fennel root and I never had cavala nero. Luckily for the cavolo there was a recipe on the website that I’m using tonight. But I still love the box. The taste of the produce is fantastic and I like it that I’m challenged to think outside the box and discover new vegetables and use them.
