A year in my life: 2013 edition

Posted on

Summary 2013:

  • It’s been a good year for R., Bella and me. No big problems, just a happy life.
  • I didn’t exercise as much as I did in 2012.
  • As for running: this was my worst year since I started running back in 2009. But it’s not all bad because even though it was hard, I had to go back to training for a 5K, I never gave up and that’s positive. I am hopeful that 2014 will be a much better running year.
  • What has been really positive is that I discovered long distance walking with Bella and I can’t tell you again how much we both are enjoying that. I see so many parts of my country that are new to me and I love walking in nature. We will definitely continue this in 2014.

As usual on the last day of the year I give you my stats for the year, the best photo’s of our walks this year and some of my highlights this year.

Thank you my dear friends for your neverending support, your reading of my posts and sharing your own life with me. Although we live so far apart, I consider you definitely as my friends.

I wish you a happy New Year with lots of love, happiness, laughter and doing things you love to do. See you in 2014!

  1. It’s wonderful to read such a happy, contented year-end recap! May 2014 bring you, R. and Bella an even better year! And yes, I’m holding R. to his lottery ticket promise. :) :)

You guys packed a lot into your year! The highlight pictures were fun to look at; that shot of Bella in the chair (at the cafe) has me coming up with a couple of captions:
“Waiter, I’ll have a bowl of your finest water”
“You fools! Push my chair up to the table so I can dine!”

Happy New Year to my favorite Dutch family!

  2. Happy New Year. Have a wonderful 2014. Don’t give up, you are doing great. I love love love following your walks with Bella. Those are the coolest thing ever.

  3. I forgot to tell you that Little Helen is flying to Amsterdam on her way back to the USA – she will stop and spend 2 days. I am very jealous at her proximity to you.

love that photo of you and R. from the photoshoot! Thank you for sharing your life (and Bella!) with us Fran. May your 2014 dreams come true.

  4. Looks like you had a good year. Your pics show beautiful places to run and walk with a lot of soft running paths. I Hope you’ll enjoy your runs which have planned for next year: i Will be looking forward to reading about your adventures.

Love the picture with those typical Dutch boats. It is easy to see that you can run and walk through wonderful environs in your country.
    Happy New Year, Fran!

  5. Loved your photos. We were in Amsterdam in October for four days. Had a great time, and enjoyed all of the history, which I related to my Dutch heritage. Also, I have a very sweet little Cairn, just like you do. They would get along famously, I’m sure. Have a great year!

  6. “No big problems, just a happy life.” Best part of your post, right there.

I LOVE the photo shoot picture of you and R.
Thanks for being part of my online family, Fran! I hope you do win the lottery and can visit. :D Maybe I had better start playing, too.

  7. love the recap and all the photos Fran.
I too hope 2014 is a better running year for me as well, in fact I bought new running shoes 3 days ago to get ready:-)

Happy New Year to you, R & Bella! Hope it’s all you want it to be
    xoxo

  9. I’m glad that 2013 was a good year, Fran!

Awesome that you discovered long walks for you and Bella! I always love seeing the pictures from your walks, and I can only imagine how nice they are in real life! :)

  10. What a beautiful post Fran! LOVE all the photos, and can’t wait to see more shots from your walks with Bella well into 2014. Happy Happy New Year my friend, hugs from Canada to you and scratches behind the ear to Bella. You can scratch behind R’s ears for me too, but somehow, don’t think he’d like that too much! :)
